Why This Matters
By understanding where our dues go, we can appreciate the direct impact of our contributions. This knowledge empowers us as members, ensuring we continue to support initiatives that foster a strong, united, and effective union. These allocations are not just administrative necessities; they fuel the engine of our collective bargaining, member services, and advocacy efforts.
While reviewing our dues allocation, it's become evident, especially in light of some recent discussions I've heard, that perhaps the mere 3¢ we allocate to member education deserves reconsideration. The world of labor and negotiations is ever-evolving, and our members' understanding and engagement are crucial for our collective success.

As we approach the end of the year, I would like to remind you to take advantage of your accrued Vacation, Personal, and Floating Holiday time.
Please be aware that if your Vacation Leave balance exceeds three years of fully earned vacation time plus one year of allotted (unearned) vacation time or your Personal Leave exceeds 6 days, by January 1st, you will not accrue the maximum allowable time for the upcoming year. Floating Holiday time must be requested and taken before the end of the last pay period cycle in the year.
It is essential to plan accordingly to ensure you benefit fully from your earned time-off.
Why This Matters
Well-being: Taking time off is crucial for your health and well-being.
Maximizing Benefits: Utilize your benefits to their fullest extent.
Balance: Encouraging a healthy work-life balance is a priority for us.
Act Now
Don’t let your hard-earned time go unused. Review your balances, plan your days off, and enjoy the
time away from work that you have earned and deserve.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. Let's head into the new year refreshed and ready to tackle new challenges!
